"In the spring of 2010 we were looking for a builder to reroof our cottage. It had been thatched but we wanted to have a slate roof installed. We were also very anxious that character of the house be maintained. From the first visit to our home by Mark Young I was convinced that he was the right person for the job. I noticed how he listened to what we were saying and his responses indicated that he was taking onboard our ideas and responding to them with intelligence and imagination. We also got the feeling that he cared which was important to us.
A deal was quicky agreed with a time completion time of 7-8 weeks after starting. While the work was ongoing we were living in an adjoining building and still using the kitchen in the house. Mark and his team arrived each day punctually at 8.15, were polite, discrete and very tidy. I have some building experience myself and inspected the work on a daily basis. The hidden joints of the roofing were immaculate and the care and attention Mark and his team took to deliver what was a roof that not only maintained but enhanced the cottage was exemplary. When a problem arose Mark invested time, creativity and intelligence to find not just an adequate solution but a good one.
In the end the job took 9 weeks, the site was left immaculate and the roof is stunning and quite bizarrely we are possibly unique in that for a few weeks after the job we missed the daily arrival of the builders. But what they left behind we enjoy on a daily basis."

"In June 2015 We hired Mark and his Eco Construction company to complete a project in our kitchen and existing adjoined sunroom area.
This sunroom has always been a very cold room and we could only use it for the summer months. We wanted to use this space all year round.
Our kitchen was a layout that we felt could be improved to provide better storage solutions and to suit better our needs.
The project involved removing the doors into the sunroom and opening up the void to make the space open plan, super high efficient insulation installed into the cavities, air tightness measures around new doors and windows, flooring, painting and decorating.
Mark personally oversaw the insulation of the new windows and doors throughout the whole house also. Because of his input and knowledge we now have windows and doors installed with better airtightness than originally provided by the window company and this is something that we feel has made a huge difference for the future of our home.
The project also included the relocation of an existing kitchen island unit and manufacturing of several new kitchen units. This part was difficult to complete and ran a little over time because of items outside of marks control in sourcing a kitchen company that could exactly match the paint colour of the existing kitchen. Thru marks building connections and his diligence to complete the project to a high standard we now have a super warm functional space that's useable all year round.
We are very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend Mark to anyone."

'Mark Young was the building contractor for the construction of our home in 2006. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Mark and his team. His professional approach to his work and his attention to detail was outstanding. But the thing that stood out in my mind most was that no matter how much work you put into the design process there will always be changes during the build, which I have to admit I did quiet a bit. But Mark was willing to humour me, reorder supplies and still manage to keep to our schedule. Another positive that I found about Mark was that he was willing to go that extra mile to source unusual materials that we required for our build.
We installed a geothermal heating system upon his recommendation and we are delighted with it. He was very knowledgeable about this system and was able to solve our teething issues as we settled into our house.
I cannot recommend Mark highly enough, they say building a house is one of the most stressful things to do in your life but working with Mark I have to say this is not true.'
